of the NC3Rs and level funding in real terms from the
Government Spending Review
- Over £6 million awarded in new grants and
studentships

- Launch of the ARRIVE guidelines for reporting animal
research
- Recommendation to remove the regulatory requirements for
acute dermal toxicity testing of chemicals where oral data
are available
- Opportunities to use the rat rather than non-human
primates in abuse potential studies
