Final Reports

Two types of reports are required:

• A Final Scientific Report on the work undertaken, achievements/outcomes and an explanation of any significant variances between sums awarded and actual expenditure under particular cost headings; this will include all information about how the project advanced replacement, refinement or reduction
• A Financial Statement of Expenditure incurred against the grant.

Completing Final Scientific Reports and Final Statements of Expenditure:

• The Final Report grant reference plus the Final Statement of Expenditure sheet are sent by the NC3Rs to your Research Organisation (RO) Finance Office to complete, approximately 1 month before the award ends
• The RO Finance Office informs the Principal Investigator that the Final Scientific Report needs to be completed
• The RO Finance Office completes the Final Statement of Expenditure
• The RO Finance Office returns both the completed reports to the NC3Rs at 3Rsgrants@nc3rs.org.uk
