Infographic: marking our 1,000th peer review

Peer-review infographic news showing 22 funding organisations, between 2004 and 2018 1,007 were reviewed, proposals from 174 research institutions covering 30 countries worldwide

Our peer review and advice service supports UK funding bodies to ensure the 3Rs are properly implemented in the research they fund.

We do this in a number of ways, including reviewing research proposals for these funders. This helps us to verify that animal welfare standards in research are genuinely high and exceed the legal minima, and that overseas work is conducted to standards equivalent to those in the UK.

To mark the completion of our 1,000th peer review this month, we have produced the following infographic, which explores how the service works and how it supports funders and grant applicants to apply the 3Rs. Click on the infographic to view a full size version.
