Therése Ahlström, a laboratory engineer and animal technician at Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) joins us to speak about the pioneering approach taken by RISE to implementing refinements for handling mice and rats. Therése will highlight the importance of creating trust and cooperation between the animals and handlers, which begins as soon as new animals arrive at the facility. Gentle handling and training reduce stress-related behaviours during research and this can be achieved with a few short training sessions before a study commences. During the webinar you will see how you can train your mice and rats, and observe the impressive results that arise from employing these techniques. We will also touch upon the challenges faced in this process and how to overcome these.

Certificates of attendance are available on request only to registered participants attending through their unique Zoom link.
